The most recognized male figure skating star in the world, Scott Hamilton has won 70 titles, awards and honors including an Emmy Award nomination, induction into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame and a privileged member of the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame. He captured the attention of the world just over 30 years ago with his Olympic Gold medal performances in Saravejo and since has shared his love and enthusiasm for the sport as a commentator, performer, producer and best-selling author (Landing It, 1999; The Great Eight, 2014), and most recently with the founding of the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy. He further inspires others as a speaker, philanthropist and cancer and pituitary brain tumor survivor.
Scott is actively involved in his Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, and its programs Chemocare.com and RadCare.org and patient mentoring program the 4th Angel Network. He serves on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics International, Provision Healthcare Foundation in Knoxville, and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. He also actively supports philanthropies including: Best Buddies of Middle Tennessee and LiveBeyond.
In his free time, Scott can be found on the golf course and enjoys spending time with his wife Tracie and four children – at their home outside Nashville, Tennessee.
Paula Kaye Trujillo
Learn to Skate Manager & Coach
Paula Kaye Trujillo is Professional Skaters Association Triple Master Rated in Freestyle, Choreography and Style, and a Group Instructor. She performed in Ice Capades for 10 years.
Paula has coached athletes of all levels for the past 17 years from tots to Elite Professional Skaters all over the world. She’s worked as Production Assistant with Willy Bietak Productions Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Ice Shows. Her duties include production, choreography development and professional skater development.
Paula developed 7 volunteer camps for children with life threatening illnesses, abused and neglected children, burn victims, and children with Autism in the Las Vegas Area that started 18 years ago and are thriving today!
She is available for coaching private lessons in Basic Skills, Freeskate, Choreography and Style, Spin Technique, Jump Technique, Moves in the Field, Show Production, Hockey Skills, beginner and advanced Adult Skaters and coach mentoring programs.
Paula met her husband Victor, Master Electrician for Ice Capades, while touring together. After touring, they settled down in Las Vegas, NV raising their delightful children Arielle (age 24) and Dylan (age 21). She & Victor moved to Nashville for her to be a part of the “build skaters, from the ice up, in a fun creative environment” approach Scott Hamilton Skating Academy is bringing to our community.×
Ronnie grew up in Kansas, raised in Ohio and is flourishing in Nashville. Ronnie is a USFS Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, USFS Junior FS Test, USFS Novice Pairs and Pre-Silver Dance tests. Ronnie has been teaching skaters throughout Nashville the fundamental skating skills of Hockey since year 2000. Ronnie is available for lessons in Hockey, Pair Skating, Freestyle private lessons. Ronnie’s greatest gifts to the world are his two small children whom you will often see blazing across the ice!×
Kelly Piptone Hobbs
Kelly Pipitone Hobbs is from Rockford, IL, training in Rockford/Chicago-area, and Colorado Springs, CO. She passed her Gold Freestyle, Gold MIF, Gold Figure Tests and Bronze Dance Tests. Kelly brings 10+ years of coaching experience to the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy. She is a full member of United States Figure Skating and Professional Skaters Association. Her PSA Ratings include: Registered FS, Registered Group and Certified Moves in the Field. Kelly enjoys teaching Freestyle, Moves In Field, and Choreography to skaters of all ages — from recreational to elite.×
Emily Outlaw began her skating career at the age of seven. She trained at Centennial Sportsplex, University of Delaware, and Ice Castle with fantastic coaches such as: Karen Ludington, Joel Mckeever, and the world renowned Ron Ludington. Emily also has over ten years Classical Ballet, Jazz, and Tap dance training. She specializes in the Fields of Freeskating, Moves, Spins, and Pairs. She is enjoying teaching Learn to Skate classes with the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy.×
Gina Stefanov’s hometown is Cleveland, Ohio. She has 4 years of experience coaching private and group lessons in Dayton, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. For 6 years, she volunteered with Special Olympics figure skating program. Gina is a USFS Basic Skills Coach, ISI bronze and silver certified judge and Predators Ice Girl. When she’s not on the ice teaching, Gina works full time as a Physical Therapist. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2013 from the University of Pittsburgh.×
Kayla grew up in Dallas, Texas and skated there competitively for 9 years. She has competed at the Junior level and has tested through Novice Moves in the Field and Free skating. Before relocating to Nashville, Kayla taught Basic Skills 3 consecutive years in Dallas. Ford Ice Center is happy to welcome Kayla to our Coaching Staff. Kayla is available for private lessons in Basic Skills and Free skate levels 1-6.×
